Raton, NM – August 1, 2025 – InBank, an independent commercial bank serving the Colorado Front Range, southern Colorado, and northern New Mexico markets, announced today that construction will begin on or around August 4, 2025 for the new Raton Banking Center at 1233 S 2nd St. Raton, NM 87740.

This project was originally announced to the public in July 2023 with the intention of operations at the new facility commencing in winter 2024 or early spring 2025. Economic fluctuations over the past two years have stalled the construction progress of the new bank center. To better serve their clients and invest in the future of Raton, InBank made the decision to remodel the existing WashFed bank building at 1233 S 2nd St. Rather than constructing a new facility, the bank chose to revitalize the space to support downtown redevelopment and encourage further investment in the community.

Its prime location near civic institutions offers excellent visibility, and the building’s original design as a financial institution made it ideal for reuse. As a strong advocate for community development, InBank saw this project as an opportunity to eliminate vacant space, signal local growth, and create jobs—while preserving the solid architectural foundation already in place. Traci Garrett, InBank’s Raton Market President commented “It’s an honor to be part of this exciting new chapter for our community. Seeing this project come to life is a proud moment, and I’m grateful to everyone who helped make it possible!”

On September 15, 2025, InBank’s Raton South operations will be consolidated into their Main Raton branch located at 200 S 2nd St. Raton, NM 87740 until construction is complete. InBank expects the new location to be completed by the end of November 2025. Until September 12, InBank’s Raton South location will remain operational and accessible for your banking needs.
