To our valued clients and friends of InBank,
I’m thrilled to announce that InBank’s parent, InBankshares, Corp, has signed a definitive agreement to merge with First National of Nebraska, the holding company of FNBO (First National Bank of Omaha). When the merger is completed, which is expected in early 2027, InBank will merge with and into FNBO.
Until then, and beyond, we remain focused on serving our customers and communities and continuing to run our business just as we are today. InBank customers won’t experience any changes to the way they bank over the coming months as we await regulatory approval.
From my perspective, we have found an ideal parter to help us continue our mission of serving clients and communities in Colorado and New Mexico. I’m proud to say that I will be leading our existing markets for FNBO and that all our great retail and commercial teams will continue to serve you with the same familiar faces and commitment to your banking relationship.
One of the important factors in our decision to merge with FNBO is the ability to quickly expand our product and service offerings. Our clients and communities will soon have access to a widely expanded array of personal products and client-facing technology, including mortgage, consumer card, and private banking & wealth management services. Our commercial clients will have access to a much larger balance sheet for expanding lending relationships and will continue to benefit from strong technology and treasury management and card products.
FNBO was founded in Omaha, Nebraska in 1857 and has over 120 locations across nine states; Colorado, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Iowa, South Dakota, Texas, Wyoming and soon to be New Mexico. Very similar to the 108-year history of InBank, our two banks have deep roots in serving customers and communities in the mid-west and west over the last 169 years.
FNBO is one of the largest privately owned banks in the country and is deeply rooted in six generations of family ownership. FNBO has a proud tradition of partnering with institutions like InBank that share our commitment to putting customers first and giving back to the communities we call home.
As of today, there will be no changes to your accounts, or to the great banking teams that provide service to you. We expect to receive regulatory approval in the fourth quarter of 2026 and we plan to close the merger in early 2027. Conversion to FNBO’s products and services is expected to be completed in the second half of 2027 providing ample time to ensure the transition is seamless to you.
In the meantime, please contact your local banker should you have any questions. We will work hard to offer transparency and timely information throughout the process in the coming months.
Also, please feel free to reach out to me at Edward.Francis@inbank.com with any questions that you may have.
We have also included a Frequently Asked Questions for Customers document for your reference.
